Hi,

We are planning a 3 week trip to Japan for late September and October.

Our itinerary is as follows:

25/9-Land in Haneda and head straight to Hiroshima
Stay in Hiroshima from 25/9 to 30/09.
While there we will be doing a day trip to Kumamoto and Kurashiki.
We will go from Hiroshima to Kyoto

From 30/09 to 6/10 we will be in Kyoto.
While in Kyoto we will do day trips to Osaka, Nagoya and Wakayama.

We will go to Tokyo from Kyoto and will be there until 17/10.
While in Tokyo we will be doing a day trip to Kawaguchiko and Shiroishi.

Is a 21 day pass worth it or should we be looking into other passes?

Any advise is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi there,

Since you travel a lot, a 21-day JR Pass could be very convenient but may not help you with savings. It however would help you do all the day trips without thinking or having to worry about budget.

Alternatively, it may be worth flying from Haneda to Hiroshima (to save on travel time) and then look at a Sanyo-Sanin Northern Kyushu Pass, it includes travel up to Kumamoto and is great for day trips from Hiroshima and includes travel to Kyoto as well.

Hope you find this useful,
Daniel
