Hi there,

I would use a 7-day JR Pass for travel from Day 5-Day 11. This is the period that you travel on the most expensive routes and where you could make the best possible savings.

One tip to get the best out of your pass, switch Himeji and Nara around. Travel costs a lot more to Himeji, using your JR Pass for this trip would make a lot of sense.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
