Trying to decide which pass(es) to buy for my group. Can change the dates and order around for the Hiroshima/Kyoto/Rabbit Island/Tokyo section. Are the 7 and 14-day all-Japan passes the best options for us, or is a regional pass better?

Thank you!

Passenger 1:
Tokyo-Kanazawa, May 19
Kanazawa-Kusatsu Onsen, May 22 (also could use some help with this leg, since I think a bus is needed?)
Kusatsu Onsen -Tokyo, May 23

Passenger 2:
Tokyo - Hiroshima, May 26
Hiroshima-Kyoto, May 28
Kyoto-Rabbit Island-Kyoto, May 29
Kyoto-Tokyo, June 1

Passenger 3:
All of the above

Hi there,

For passenger 1.) I recommend using a Hokuriku Arch Pass or 7-day JR Pass. You can make good savings on this route and the bus to Kusatsu-Onsen is also covered by the JR Pass. Here is how to access Kusatsu Onsen

For Passenger 2:
I would use a 14 day JR Pass here, as you travel more than 7days and both travel to Hiroshima and back to Tokyo cost a lot without the pass.

3.) Same as 2 :)

Kind regards,
Daniel
