Hi there,

I think the basis is good and solid, with many family-friendly stops. From here on I think it would make sense to start filling in the details and make your day plans. For instance, what would you like to do in Tokyo on day 4?

A couple of general suggestions:

In Tokyo:
The Ghibili museum, Ueno Zoo and Tokyo-Edo museum are all cool visits with kids.

In Kyoto:
Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama and the Railway museum are all cool.

In Osaka:
Universal studio, Shinsai bashi/dotonbori and going up the Umeda Skybuilding are worth stopping at.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Thank you Daniel! Do you think taking an overnight train from Osaka to Tokyo is a sensible idea? That way we can have another full day in Osaka or may be in Kyoto. If you had an extra day where would you recommend to go? Also my son is into science and music
