Trip to Kyoto and Tokyo

Hi,

We are 2 adults and 2 children. We will be arriving at Osaka and will need to take a train to Kyoto. We will stay in Kyoto for 5 nights and then take the bullet train to Tokyo. We will stay in Tokyo for 4 nights and then fly home from Narita (with train to airport).

Does it make sense to get a JR pass for this trip (9 nights) (if we don't do any other train trips) or does it make sense to buy individual tickets for the few train journeys?

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

For this trip it would not make sense to use a JR Pass. A JR Pass is a good option if you would make a return Osaka - Tokyo, but you only go one way.

So getting individual tickets is the way to go.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
