We are traveling on the following itinerary,
Arriving in Narita Airport from Tokyo on Jan 16, 2020 3:40pm, and going to Osaka/Kyoto on the same day
Staying in Osaka/Kyoto for 4 days, to Jan 20, 2020 and back to Tokyo for 5 days, any recommendation which is the best way and cheapest to travel between these cities, thank you for you help.

I recommend using a 7day JR Pass for your travels. It would be the best choice in terms of time and convenience.
