Would appreciate your comment and advise to my itinerary below:
Arrive Haneda Airport
2 days - Tokyo
1 day - Kanazawa
4 days - Toyama
2 days - Tokyo
Depart via Narita
Please advise if it is ok for me to purchase the 7 days JR pass
in view of our stay in Toyama for 4 days.

Yes, a 7 day JR Pass would be great if you return to Tokyo before it expires. A return trip from Tokyo - Kanazawa alone pays for more than the 7 day pass, so any additional travel just adds to that.
