Hi!
Will be traveling during busy season in late April/early May. Flying into Tokyo for one night then leaving next morning for Miyajima. 2 nights in Miyajima then to kyoto. 3 nights in Kyoto then to Hakone for 2 nights and back to Tokyo for our final night. I’d like to get by with the 7 day pass if possible. Does the JR pass provide any benefit for getting to Hakone? I assume to get to Hakone from Kyoto we may have to go to Tokyo first?? Any suggestions with this itinerary would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there,
The JR Pass can be used to travel to Hakone but not within Hakone. The Shinkansen station for Hakone is called Odawara, you can use the bullet trains directly from Kyoto there, it is also directly on the route to Tokyo and a good stop over.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
