Hi, wondering if the itinerary is doable or are we d=trying to squeeze in too much. I am also looking for some advice on if i need 2dat rail pass.

Thursday 14/3: arrive Narita airport
Thurs 14-18th: Tokyo
Mon 18 - 20th : to Shibu Onsen
Wed 20th back to Tokyo and then to Kamukura for short stop before onto Hakone
Thursday 21 - 22nd: Hakone
Friday 22: back to Tokyo (need to come back this weekend for the Animie convention
Frid 22-24th: Tokyo
Sun 24th: to Kyoto
Sun24-Fri 29th: Kyoto
Frid 29th to Koya-San (stay monastery)
Sat 30th: to Kanazawa
Sat 30-Tues 2/4: back to Tokyo
Sat 2nd to 5/4: Tokyo
Back Home from Narita airport

I am traveling with my daughter and wish to get a variety of experiences with out being absolutely drained. We are on a budget so wish to make it as doable as possible.

Hi Susan,

The going back and forth to/from Tokyo adds up a lot in travel costs and using a JR Pass for these will be a big help and money saver! I think that overall your itinerary looks very much doable, the only trip I feel may be too much is the side visit to Kamakura but it should be possible.

I think a 21 day JR Pass would be the best option, because you travel nearly every day while you are in Japan.
