Hi,

Myself and my husband are travelling from Fukuoka via Kyoto, via Takayama and on to Tokyo over a 10 day period.
Would a 7 day JR pass be sufficient in that we could use local transport in Fukuoka and then local transport again in Tokyo? We are travelling out to Tokyo Stadium (Ajinomoto Stadium) but I'm pretty sure we can make this journey on the subway?

Thank you in advance for the help!

Clare

Hi Clare,

Yes, for sure. The JR Pass is best used for longer distance / intercity travel. Buying tickets for local train and then using the JR Pass for longer travel is the best option.

The Tokyo Stadium (Ajinomoto Stadium) can also be reached by public transport without having to pay a lot.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
