Hi There,

Need some advice here. I am planning a trip with family of 4 adults + 1 kid (9 years old). My Itinerary:

Day 1 - Arrival at Narita Airport
Day 2 - Depart from Tokyo to Takayama
Day 3 - Depart from Takayama to Kyoto+Nara+Kobe
Day 4 - Depart from Kyoto to Osaka
Day 5 - Depart from Osaka to Tokyo
Day 6 - Depart from Narita Airport

Questions:
1. If the route plan is appropriate or should the route be re-sequence to better use of time?
2. Can you help to suggest transportation type for each of the route above?
3. We are looking forward for bullet train experience in Japan, which route involve bullet train?
4. If 7-Days JR Pass suits us?

Thank you very much!

regards
GK

Hello there,

A JR Pass would work great here. The cost of a 7 day JR Pass is about the same as a return ticket Tokyo - Kyoto. You'll make very good savings with all the additional travel.

1.) The route looks good and I don't think that you have to change any part of the route.

2.) All the cities you visit are easy to access. You can find the exact details using Hyperdia. You can find out how to plan with Hyperdia here.

3.) You will use the Tokaido Shinkansen a lot that connects Tokyo - Kyoto and Osaka. As well as part of the way to Takayama. You can also use the newer Hokuriku Shinkansen via Toyama north of Tokyo. This takes a little longer but you get to ride one of the latest Shinkansen in Japan and it is covered by the JR Pass in any case.

4.) Yup!

Kind regards,
Daniel

Hi there,

In this case it would be better to buy normal tickets.

Kind regards,
Daniel
