Arrive in narita in July 3 pm

Activate 14 days jrpass
Take nex to Tokyo
First day in Tokyo food, hotel the. ueno park
Day 2 day trip Hakone-yumoto take 6 am train
Get hakone free pass and do the loop from odawara
Leave hakone by 1 pm to go to great Buddha at Kamakura then back to Tokyo for dinner etc
Day 3
Shibuya scramble Shibuya park Shinjuku national park ginza and fish market
Senso ji

Day 4
Nikkio day trip for the tosho gu shrine
If back i time continue explore Tokyo
Day 5
Explore Tokyo in the morning lockup luggage and leave for Kanazawa by 3 pm
Hotel and food in Kanazawa. Castle
Day 6
Explore Kanazawa
Day7
Day trip to takiyama
Day 8 Kanazawa to Osaka
Osaka Castle and Nara
Day 9 day trip from Osaka to miyajima and Hiroshima
Day 10 rest day or day trip to Kyoto from Osaka
Day 11 and 12 same as 10 depending on

Day 13 Osaka to Tokyo
Explore Tokyo
Day 14 explore Tokyo then fly out
Need help on luggage logistics
Going with 4 teenage kids
Should I stay in Kyoto and skip Osaka
Trying to reduce the transfers between hotel
Can I take suitcase on subway

Hi there,

Osaka and Kyoto are only 30 minutes apart by train and you can easily travel between them. Osaka is a great visit and I do not think skipping this over a 30minute commute is worth it. You can even take the bullet train using the JR Pass and travel in comfort.

You can take your suitcase on the subway but I would avoid rush-hour, for your own comfort and others.
