Hi

We land in Tokyo on 30th September, and are staying in Tokyo until 3rd October.

We are then staying in Hakone from 3rd - 5th October.

We are then staying in Kyoto from 5th - 11th October, and plan some day excursions to Nara, Osaka and Kobe.

We are then staying in Izu from 11th - 12th October.

We are finally back in Tokyo from 12th - 14th October, before flying back home.

We would love to go on the bullet train, if this is possible. Is a JR pass worth it and if so which one?

Thank you

Chris

Hi Chris,

I think a 7 day JR Pass will be a good option for your trip when used from Day 5th to Day 12th. It would allow you to travel between these cities and help you make good savings. You can use the bullet train to travel from Odawara - Kyoto, Kobe and Nara and then to Atami for access to Izu. Travel to Nara on local trains is also covered, as well as part of the way between Atami and Izu.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
