Does JR Pass cover our itinerary?

We are planning on travelling over a 14 day period Tokyo Haneda - Hiroshima (with side trip to Miyajima) - Kyoto (with side trips to Nara and Himeji) - Kanazawa - Takayama - Matsumoto or Nagano - Tokyo Haneda (with side trip to Hakone and possibly Nikko). Will a JR Pass cover all the travel? I think from Kanazawa to Matsumoto we will on buses but I have read that the pass covers some bus journeys. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi there,

Yes, the JR Pass covers travel between all these places and you will make stellar savings at the same time, compared to purchasing normal rail tickets out right.

The JR Pass can be used to travel by rail from Kanazawa - Takayama - Matsumoto / Nagano but not the bus between these places.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
