Hi, we are looking at the best JR Pass to use for our trip to Japan with an itinerary that looks something like the below

Tokyo - Kyoto (July 5) - single journey
Kyoto - Uji (July 6) - return journey
Kyoto - Kinosaki (July 8) - return journey
Kyoto - Nagoya (July 10) - single journey
Nagoya - Tokyo (July 10) - single journey
Tokyo - Hakone (July 11) - return journey

Many thanks for your help.

Hi there,

Given your itinerary, you could combine the Kansai Wide Area Pass for the first leg of your journey with individual tickets for the remainder.

The Kansai Wide Area Pass is excellent value for your trips to Kinosaki Onsen and Uji. For your onward travel to Nagoya, Tokyo, and Hakone, individual tickets are the best option, as these journeys are not covered by the regional pass.

For the Hakone portion of your trip, I also recommend the Hakone Free Pass for local transport within that area.

Kind Regards,

Mariko
