We are going to Japan next Sept/ October and need to know wich pass buy. This is out itinerary:
30/9 Narita- Tokio
1/10 Tokio- Hiroshima
2/10 Hiroshima - Miyajima ( ferry)
3/10 Hiroshima - Kioto
4/10 kioto-Nara-Kioto
6/10 Kioto-Osaka
7/10 Osaka - Tokio
10/10 Tokio- Narita
We also want to kniw if we should buy a first class pass or just an ordinary one. We are older , and it might be better haver reservstions for out seats.
Hi there,
I recommend using a 7 day Japan Rail Pass from 1/10 to 7/10. This is the period that you travel most and where the JR Pass would help you make most savings. Local travel around Tokyo on itself does not cost a lot and you'd be fine here buying normal tickets.
A First Class ticket can be very nice if you wish to travel is more peace and quiet.
