Hi,
I am considering getting the 7 days - NATIONAL JAPAN RAIL PASS.
Here is my trip:
16 October : Tokyo – Nikko
17 October : Nikko – Matsumoto
18 October : Matsumoto – Kanazawa
20 October : Kanazawa – Kyoto
23 October : Kyoto – Osaka
Is it worth it? Would it be cheaper to purchase separate tickets? Does the National JR PASS cover all those trips?

Hi Julien,
A 7 day JR Pass would work very well here, you'd make very good savings compared to purchasing normal tickets and all these lines are covered.
Do keep in mind that the pass is counted in days and right now your itinerary would be 8 days long.
