Hello. I fly into in Tokyo Narita and fly out 7 days later from New Chitose in Hokkaido. I have a seven-day JR Rail Pass. What are the most scenic railway lines which I can take in northern Honshu and Hokkaido?
I would like to include Wakkanai, if possible.

Hi Charles,
I would recommend taking the Hitachi Ltd. Express train up from Tokyo to Iwaki, the Akita Shinkansen to Akita, the ShiroiKami train from Akita to Aomori past the northern coast. The ltd. Express from Hakodate to Sapporo.
These are all quite scenic and on the route, however they can't all be done in 1 day and will require good planning beforehand.
