Hi. I will be in Japan with my family in augut for 3 weeks.
Here is my itinerary:
Arrive Narita Airport;
5-9 August - Tokyo, maybe day visit to Nikko
9- 12 August Takayama, Shirakawago, Tamikochi, Magome
12-17 August - Kyoto - visit Himeji (maybe Tottori)
18-19 August –Hiroshima- Miyajima
20-23 August – Osaka, Koyasan, Yunomine onsen, Shingu;
then back to Tokyo

Wich JR Pass should we buy? (we are 3 adults and 1 child) It will be better choose a regional pass (JR central o Hiroshima-Kansai area) ?
Thank you very much

Hi there,

I would look at either a 14-day JR Pass or a 21 day JR Pass, you'll be traveling within multiple regions and covering good distances. You travel more than enough for each pass to be cost efficient.

The JR Pass will also give you the flexibility to do the day trips you may do like Nikko and Tottori.

Kind regards,
Daniel

Thank you very much for your kindly replay. I ‘ve just another question.
In Takayama-Hokuriku Area Pass are included some bus lines (Nohi Bus/Toyama Chiho Railway/Hokutetsu Bus: Shirakawago/Kanazawa line and Takayama/Toyama line between Takayama Nohi Bus Center – Shirakawago – Kanazawa; Kaetsuno Bus: World Heritage Bus between Shirakawa-go - Shin-Takaoka station). Are theese lines included also in general JR pass?
Kind regards
Elisa

Hi again :)

These bus lines are operated by other companies and thus not included in the JR Pass :(

Kind regards,
Daniel
