2 guys travelling to Japan for the first time.

Should we get the 7 day JRP for the itinerary I stated (Narita-Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo-Narita)?

Some other questions:

  1. Can I take the metro in Tokyo with the 7 day JRP?

  2. Our flight arrives at Narita Airport on 22nd Aug at 14:00. Does the 7D JRP covers the Narita express.What time is the earliest timing for the Narita express and follow by the Shinkasen to Osak

  3. How long does it take to get from Narita Airport to Shinjonawate?

  4. can I use the 7 day JRP pass in the Kansai area (Osaka-Kyoto-Nara)?

Hi there,

Yes using the JR Pass for the above itinerary would certainly help you make savings. Here's a quick list of ticket prices you would pay without the JRPass.

Narita Airport - Osaka ¥ 17,100
Osaka - Kyoto ¥ 560
Kyoto -Tokyo ¥ 13,800
Tokyo - Narita Airport ¥ 3,220

For a total of ¥ 34,680 or ¥ 5,580 in savings as the 7 day JR Pass is ¥ 29,100. In addition the JR Pass is also valid for local train travel within Osaka/Tokyo.

1.) The metro/subway is not included in the JR Pass.

2.) The Narita Express is covered! Trains start running after 6 a.m.

3.) Could you check the name of this station? I was unable to find this station.

4.) Yes travel between all these places is covered by the JR Pass.
