Hello!

We are travelling in mid-November in Japan and we are wondering if we need the JRpass.

Our route is the following:

1st day: arriving at Narita Airport and going to Tokyo
2nd and 3rd day in Tokyo
4th day trip Tokyo-Nikko-Tokyo
5th day Tokyo-Hakone where we spend the night
6th day Hakone - Kanazawa (Ishikawa) where we spend 2 nights
7th day Kanazawa
8th day Kanazawa-Kyoto
9th day Kyoto
10th day Kyoto-Nara-Kyoto
11th day Kyoto
12th Kyoto-Tokyo where we spend the night
13th Tokyo -Narita airport taking the flight back home.

Please help me with some advice.
Is it feasible or just too much in terms of visiting?
How we should organise our transportation (with Jr pass or other options?)

Thank you!
Alexandra

Hi Alexandra,

After having analysed your itinerary, I can say it is quite feasible and a 14 day JR Pass would help you make good savings on this route. The only route that is rather long is Hakone - Kanazawa but there's only 1 transfer if you travel from Odawara station and you can use the Shinkansen all the way. Making for a comfortable trip.

The rest looks good too.

Kind egards,
Daniel
