Hello everybody,

I am traveling to japan with my boyfriend mid Aug. This will be his first trip to japan so we would like to cover the basis.

Here is what I have in mind at the moment, if you have any suggestions please do share.

Day 1 Land@17:55 in Kansai
Universal Studio, Namba, Dotonburi, Osaka Castle... Day 6-7 Activate JR Pass, travel to Hiroshima and spend a night
Museum, Miyajima Day 8-10 Kyoto
Kinkakuji Temple, Gion, Arashiyama Day 10-12 Tokyo
Tsukiji Fish Market, Roppongi hills, Sensoji, Shibuya .. Day 12 flying out of tokyo @12:15pm

Is this all logical? The reason I think to stay in Osaka for that long is just so we can still use the JR pass to get
to Narita Airport from Tokyo on the last day. is that a good idea or a better idea to spend less time in osaka and more
in tokyo. Maybe catch a bus to the airport? Seems as if too much time in osaka and not enough in tokyo?
would you say?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hi there,

Yes, it looks good to me. Osaka is also in the middle of the Kansai area and travel within Kansai is generally pretty cheap. You could make day trips to Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Wakayama and Koya-san without ramping up too much cost. Then use your JR Pass for the more expensive routes like, Hiroshima and Tokyo.

This way you could visit Kyoto sooner and have some more time in Tokyo or visit a different city.

Enjoy your trip!
Daniel
