Planning on taking a trip to Japan for a total travel time of 10 days. The trip will take place Nov 22 through Dec 1st. The trip will start out in Tokyo and end there as well. I would like to make the following stops along the way:

In order...

-Tokyo ( 2 days )

-Mt Fuji Five Lakes ( 1 day )

-Kyoto ( 3 days )

-Osaka ( 2 days )

-Hiroshima

-Possibly Nagasaki

-Travel back to Tokyo -FLY OUT OF TOKYO on December 1st ( evening )

Everything is subject to change as this is a rough draft.
Is this trip possible using the JR pass? Also any recommendations on what to see and what to skip? Any lodging recommendations?

Thanks!

Hi there,

A JR Pass would work very well with this itinerary.

I really like Nagasaki but feel it would be too much travel time to get there and then back to Tokyo in just 10 days. Going from Nagasaki to Tokyo in one go is about 8 hours of train travel. That's a lot! So skip that, then get a 7 day Japan Rail Pass and do Kyoto, Osaka and Hiroshima with it.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
