Hi,
I need to do the following traveling and I am not sure what rail pass is best, or if I would best to purchase individual tickets

I am traveling with my daughter, but with a different schedule at the beginning of our trip. I would like some advice for the two cases.

For myself

21 Oct -- Hiroshima - Tokyo
26 Oct --Tokyo - Kyoto
30 Oct --Kyoto - Koyasan
31 Oct --Koyasan - Nara
2 Nov -- Nara- Hakone
3 Nov -- Hakone Tokyo
5 Nov - Tokyo centrum - Narita airport

My daughter

22 Oct -- Narita airport - Tokyo
26 Oct --Tokyo - Kyoto
30 Oct --Kyoto - Koyasan
31 Oct --Koyasan - Nara
2 Nov -- Nara- Hakone
3 Nov -- Hakone - Tokyo
5 Nov - Tokyo centrum - Narita airport

Many thanks!
Marcela

Hello Marcela,

I think a 14 day JR Pass would be the best fit for your itinerary when used from Oct 21st to Nov 3rd. This would allow you to travel to all the cities you plan to visit and make nice savings at the same time. You would need to buy one extra tickets to/from Koya-san and within Hakone but this is relatively little compared to the rest.

For your daughter: I would buy normal tickets here. The trip is just 1 day too long for a 7 day JR Pass to be effective and does not have enough travel (cost) for a 14 day JR Pass to work.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
