Dear all,
I will be in Japan next August and I will sleep 2 nights in Hakone. I thought to go there since there is a nice view of Mt. Fuji, but now I think that could be a very nice experience go on the top of the Fuji. I would like to go from Hakone to 5th station of Mt. Fuji (1 day). Anyone know if there is a public transport that connect Hakone and Fuji?
Thanks!!!!
Ale

Hi there,

There are buses from Kawaguchiko station.

However Fuji 5th station is just a base station for hikers going up the mountain (not an actual train station).

If you want a good view of Fuji, then I would recommend visiting Hakone or one of the Fuji 5 Lakes. Your time would be much better spend there.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

Hi,
I agree - I've been to the 5th Station twice; basically I'd say it was a waste of time. There is no scenery there, since you are actually on the mountain. the scenery from the other places (which is always iffy and depending on the weather) and other things to see and do would make a more enjoyable experience.
