Three friends and I travelling to Japan and we're staying for 7 days, we're landing in Tokyo and we fly out in Osaka. What form of transport should we use/buy? Does the original JR pass cover a bullet train ride from Tokyo to Osaka? What's the cheapest option? Where to buy a japan rail pass?

-Thank you

Hi there,

The JR Pass covers the Shinkansen between Tokyo and Osaka (as well as all other Shinkansen lines in Japan) but it is cheaper to buy a one way ticket. A JR Pass would be cost effective if you make a return Tokyo - Osaka.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
