Hi,
We are flying into NRT and plan to stay in Tokyo for one day, then travel to Kyoto and stay for 4 days 3 nights. after that, plan to go to Takayama for 2 nights and then back to Kyoto for 2 days and then back to Tokyo. Does this itinerary make sense? What kind of pass is the best for us? We are planning to go to different cities around Kyoto during those days as well. Total stay in Japan is 10 days. Arrive on May 10 and leaving on May 19.
Please help
Thanks!

Hi there,
I think it would make more sense to travel Tokyo - Kyoto - Takayama - Tokyo. Going back to Kyoto would just add more travel time. I would suggest using a 7 day JR Pass if you can make the trip and return to Tokyo before the pass expires.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
