hi ,
i m planning to visit Tokyo in end of march for a week along with my 2 kids aged 5 and 8. They wanted to play with snow so i thought of nagano area where they can play with snow and see snow monkeys(i hope i got the place right ) and put up a night there to get the snow experience. is it the best and nearest place from tokyo to see snow and stay over night ?
i would like to visit mt fuji as a day trip too.
please advise me on itinerary and regarding the JR pass i should purchased, and places can be covered near mt fuji in a day trip.
Do i need to buy a metro card as well for the other days travelling in Tokyo sightseeing with my kids?

thank you in advance

Hi there,

Nagano is great to enjoy snow and see the snow monkeys at Jigokudani too. I do recommend staying there a night or two, as there is a good amount of travel involved.

For Fuji see:

The JR Pass covers most of Tokyo using local JR lines, however some places like Asakusa and Odaiba can only be reached by metro.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
