My girlfriend and I are visiting japan for a couple of weeks over Christmas and new year we are going to the rizin fights in saitama on the 29th and are then going to kyoto the next day can you tell me if the shinkansen runs from saitama to kyoto or will we have to travel back to tokyo and then get one to kyoto thank you in advance for your help
Hi there,
You will likely travel to Omiya station in Saitama. Nearly any Shinkansen going north of Tokyo stops here.
From Omiya to Kyoto, take any Shinkansen to Tokyo station, from there use a Hikari service Kyoto station. There is normal service during Christmas.
