Hello...

I am excited but need a lot of information to plan this visit to make it an enjoyable one. I hope you can help to answer my questions and/or give better suggestion.
I will arrive in Narita Apr 28 early morning and leave from Narita May 3 evening ( 6 days, 5 nights)

  1. Which area is the convinient for me to stay (in Tokyo vicinity), I mean short walk to station (up to 10 minutes), close to tour meeting place, easy access to main attractions (temple, garden, famous building, market, etc).

  2. Is it rushing if I make 1-day trip to Kyoto or I need 2 days ? or for 1 day you have other city to suggest ?

  3. My understanding JR pass valid aslo for Sinkansen and all subway/metro lines, is that correct ?
or on top of JR pass I will have to buy metro/subway pass/tikcet ?

  4. For Narita-Tokyo return, is it included in HR pass ? If not, is ther any combo pass that includes Narita-Tokyo return ?

  5. If I go to Hakone, can I use JR Pass ? Do I need to buy local metro/rain/bus tiket to go around to see Fuji Mt ?

  6. Which area (garden) will still have the cherry blossom in Apr 28-May 3 ?

  7. Is luggage storage available in most stations or is there any other option for this ? On the last day and when I travel to other city I need to store my luggage.

Thank you in advance

Hello there,

1.) Ueno, Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku are all good places to stay at.

2.) One day is indeed a little short for Kyoto, it's better to go 2 or even 3 days.

3.) The JR Pass is valid on all Shinkansen and JR lines, nationwide. The JR Pass is not valid on the subway/metro/transport run by companies other than JR.

4.) Yes the JR Pass covers travel to Narita Airport.

5.) The JR Pass covers transport to Hakone (the Shinkansen to Odawara station) inside Hakone other transport is required.

6.) Chances are that the Saruka is over by the end of April, you would have to travel to the North of Japan Tohoku/Hokkaido to catch the last of the Cherry Blossom.

7.) Yes, almost any station is equipped with coin-lockers.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
