Odawara Castle and Hakone Round Trip from Shinjuku

Hi, we will be travelling to Japan in April 2017. We would like to go from Shinjuku Station to Odawara Castle, on to the Hakone round-trip and then back to Shinjuku. We will have a JR Pass during this time, so we will probably just buy the Hakone Round Trip pass from Odawara instead of Shinjuku. Although, we would be happy to buy the full pass if the direct train is that much more convenient.

What I would like to know though is, is it possible to fit both Odawara Castle and the Hakone round trip into one day? Would it make a difference since Odawara Castle opens at 9, to do it after Hakone?

Thanks,
Emily

Hi Emily,

Yes, you could do both in a day. Keep in mind that most attractions will close around 5 pm. I would suggest starting early. Perhaps starting at 9 am with the castle or elsewhere in Hakone.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
