Navigating Tokyo metro and JR lines from Narita

I am arriving at Narita and traveling to Oyama Station. HYPERDIA and google maps are telling me to take the Keisei skyline to. Nippori then the JR Yamamoto line to Ikebukuro. Then transfer to Tobo Tojo line to Oyama. Is this the best way to get there or should I take the Narita Express? I.e. I'll not be starting my JR pass until the fourth day of my trip.

My friend is coming from HND and I want to meet her to help her navigate, what station is bet to meet her at?

Thank you!

Hi,

Hyperdia automatically tries to find the best route to your destination. Often that means quickest. The Narita Express does not go to Ikebukuro. And Ōyama Station is on the Tobu Tojo Line which is not JR. Since you're not using the pass at that time, you might as well do the quickest. Or, if you want to save some money, take the 1000 yen bus to Tokyo Station and then go to Ōyama Station via Ikebukuro. It would cost less than half.

To meet your friend, you could meet virtually anywhere...but for her convenience, you could meet at Shinagawa...although it's a big station. Pick a coffee shop or somewhere unique.

Good luck.
