Hi,
I left my scarf on the shinkansen between kyoto and tokyo, it has sentimental value to me and any help or advice you can give me about how I can go about trying to retrieve it would be greatly appreciated.

I am leaving tokyo on 25th Feb, please please can you help?

Hi Karen,

Your scarf has probably gone to the lost property department at Tokyo Station. 99 times out of 100 the conductors will have found your item (or someone will have handed it in), and it'll be waiting for you. That's even if it's really expensive - I left a pair of pricey Bose headphones on the Bullet train once, and was amazed that they were taken to the lost and found (at tokyo too).

Head to the Tokyo station lost property office between 9am-8pm. I couldn't find a map online, but it's to the north of the Yaesu side gates - you should look for 'wasuremono' or 'わすれもの’. You can also give them a call on 03-3231-1880 before you set out to make sure they have your it.

You'll have to fill in a couple of very simple forms, but I can pretty much guarantee you'll be reunited with your scarf!

Hi,
This isn't really a reply, but I lost a pair of headphones on a shinkansen from Tokyo to Odawara on the 4th of October....

They are great headphones and i'd love to get them back - any idea who I should contact?

Hi David,

You should try giving the above number a call at Tokyo station (most lost property ends up there). It will really help if you have the exact train time, car number and seat number handy too. Failing that, a very good description will help.

I know JR can arrange delivery inside Japan to return things, but I'm not too sure about returns of things internationally - well worth a shot if they were good cans!

Hello

I have been to Japan recently for work.
While going back to the airport , I forgot my luggage in the train while changing train at ueno Station. When I arrived to the airport i called JR number for lost and found, they told me that they have found it, but I couldnt go back to pick it up, i didnt have time and I had a flight and it was not possible to postpone my flight.

Do you know if it possible to send it back to me to France ?

I tried to call, but the person who answers doesnt speak english :(((

Thank you for your help

I'm afraid it's only possible to pick things up in person from JR (I think). Do you have any friends or colleagues who could pick it up on your behalf?
