Kumano kodo trek and hokaido tour

I am in the process of planning a trek on the kumano kodo to be followed by a tourist tour around hokaido. However my wife does not want to trek and will go from location to location by either train or bus on the kumano kodo part of it. What will be your advice to do this as far as transportation is concerned ? For the trek I will be using one of the local set ups like Tanabe City or kumano trek to book lodgings and probably a guide.
Any advice is most appreciated.

Hi there,

Do you have a time frame for me to work with? This would help me find you the best options for your wife.

As a start, look at using a 7 day JR Pass, this will already be cheaper than a one way Osaka - Sapporo.

Hope this helps,
Daniel

We are planning this for early April 2019, maybe start on 10 April. Fly direct to Osaka. I think the trek is about 10 days followed by tourist tour of Hokkaido for another 7 days. Do you know whether the trek locations are connected by JR rail? Thanks.
