Hi

Our itinerary is below but aren’t sure if a 7 or 14 day pass would make most sense. Should we just get a 7 day pass and activate when we go to Kyoto (using singles tickets in Tokyo etc) or will it be more cost effective to get a q5 day pass?

Tokyo 4 nights
Kyoto 3 nights
Osaka 2 nights
Hiroshima 2 nights
Koya san 1 night
Tokyo 3 nights

Thanks in advance!

Hi Scott,

You will do enough travel for a 14 day JR Pass to help you make savings. Given that you are travel so much, I would recommend going for this option.

The JR Pass is also very useful for travel around cities like Tokyo, Osaka and Hiroshima. In Hiroshima you can even use the sight seeing bus and ferry to Miyajima.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
