4 days pass no longer exists? Other options

Hi,

I'm going to Japan in 2 weeks, but this time I'm going to stay several days in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo separately for more than 1 week (it's beneficial to me to buy 1 week pass). The time between my journey from Tokyo-Osaka and Kyoto-Tokyo is roughly 10 days. I've read somewhere that you could have a 4 days pass in the past, possibly not anymore?

The other question is, to buy individual train journeys from Tokyo - Osaka and Kyoto - Tokyo should I buy those train tickets now or I can buy those on the day of the journey?

Many thanks,

David

Hello David,

There never was a 7 day JR Pass but there are several regional passes that are valid for 4 days. Perhaps you were looking for one of those?

That out of the way, I think a 7 day JR Pass is the best fit for your itinerary. It is the only pass that covers the return Tokyo - Kyoto/Osaka and will help you make savings compared to traveling without a JR Pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
