Hi
I am wondering if i activated a 7 day JR pass on the 30th of October (early morning) if i could still use it on the 7th day (Nov 4) to travel in the afternoon? Does the JR pass expire at the exact same time you validated the pass or does it expire at midnight on the 7th day? Any help is appreciated. It doesn't make sense to buy the 14 day pass for the one extra day, if it was a problem. I would only need a ticket form Kyoto to Tokyo on the 7th day.

Hi there,
The JR Pass is counted in days and the first day is counted as a full day, no matter what time you start using it. For instance, activating the JR Pass on a Monday will mean that the last day of travel is Sunday (until midnight).
