Hi, we have a trip booked for Jan 24 for 14 days. Have been trying to calculate whether it is worth getting the JR pass. 2 adults and 2 teenagers. (so 4 adult fares).
Basic intinerary is - Narita airport to Tokyo, Around Tokyo for 3 days staying in Shinjuku. Tokyo to Hakuba for 6 days skiing, then Hakuba to Kyoto for 3 days, and then Kyoto back to Tokyo for one night Haneda Airport accomodation.

Is it better to pay single tickets do you think? As you can see there will be 6 days in Hakuba not needing travel but we cover 3 big areas over 14 days. To my understanding, Nazomi bullet train is only one really not inc in the pass ?? Maybe I could activate ticket once I'm in Tokyo ??
Would really appreciate your help.

Hello there,

You won't be able to make savings using a JR Pass on this trip, so my advice would be to just buy normal tickets.

If you do get a pass, then the Nozomi can now be used from Oct 1st, but an extra fee may apply.

Kind regards,
Daniel
