Hello,

I'm traveling to Japan in September and planning the following routs by train:

09-Sep: Tokyo-Kyoto (Shinkansen)
14-Sep: Kyoto-Nara-Kyoto (probably local or express train?)
18-Sep: Kyoto-Tokyo (Shinkansen)
19-Sep: Tokyo-Kamakura-Tokyo (probably local or express train?)

Taking into account the above schedule is it worth to buy a JR Pass?

If not, where can I buy the above tickets online? I can't find any place where I can reserve tickets online.

Thanks,
Yevgeny

Hi Yevgeny,

A 7 day JR Pass would be worth it for this route but you take more than 7 days. As such it would be better to buy normal tickets. These can be purchased at any station in Japan.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
