Will the pass cover itinerary destinations?

If tourists will be allowed, my son and I will visit October 22 - November 4 and I would like your advice on whether we can use a 7 day pass for the following destinations:
--Tokyo to Tsumago (to walk Nakasendo trail) --Magome to Osaka --day trips from Osaka to Nara and Osaka to Kyoto --Osaka to Hakone --Hakone to Narita Airport (8th day - not covered with pass)

Will a 7 day pass cover all of these destinations? On the 8th day we will travel from Hakone to Narita and will have to buy separate tickets for that itinerary - do you know how much it will cost?

Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.

Hi Staci M.,

Good to see that you're planning a trip to Japan, I hope to that Japan will be back open by October.

Yes, the JR Pass covers travel between all these places, and help you make savings. That said, you still may need additional travel post, such as the local bus from Tsumago station to the trail and the same for getting back on the train to Osaka. The same applies for local travel in Hakone.

The cost between Hakone and Narita varies depending on transport type. There is a limousine bus that has limited direct services between Hakone and Narita. This is likely the most convenient option. Though it seems the route as of now is still suspended due to covid.

By train, it costs between ¥ 4,810 - ¥ 7,300. Depending on if you use the Shinkansen, which is much faster but more expensive.

Hope this helps,
