Which pass is better for my itinerary

Hello,

I will be traveling with my husband to Japan in the following itinerary:
April 11 - arriving at kansai airport and then going to Kyoto the same day
April 11-13 visiting key points of interest in Kyoto (using bus or metro)
April 14 we are going to Nara for a one day trip returning to Kyoto
April 15 we are going to Tokyo visiting key points of interest (using bus or metro) and staying there until April 19.
April 19 we are leaving from narita airport

Which pass would you recommend me to buy?

Hi Diana,

For your trip if would cost less to just buy normal tickets, compared to using a JR Pass.

A JR Pass would have been good if you had made a return Tokyo - Kyoto.

Thanks Daniel. Where can I buy online in advance the normal tickets? Is there a pass that covers metro and bus tickets, for the 9 days I will be in Japan? If yes, where can I buy them?

Hi Diana,

Most tickets can't be purchased online beforehand, you can do so at most JR stations in person.

There is no one pass that covers all metro/bus/tram etc. Usually you can buy a day pass locally for each kind of transport.
