Which JR pass is worth it?

Hi,

Based on my itinerary below, could you please confirm which of the 7 or 14 day pass would be more cost efficient?

Day 1-4: Tokyo
Day 5-6: Kyoto
Day 7-8 Osaka & Kobe
Day 9-10: Hiroshima & Miyajima
Day 11-13: Takayama, Shirakawago & Kanazawa
Day 14: Kyoto
Day 15: Tokyo

Also, is this itinerary doable or too rush?
For Day 11-13, I was debating if I should switch to Fukuoka & Nagasaki instead, which one do you recommend?

Thank you,
Vincent

Hi Vincent,

A 14 day JR Pass would be the best option for your itinerary. You will be traveling a good amount within a period longer than 7 days, so the choice is simple :)

I like both options for Day 11-13, in terms of efficiency it would be easier to visit Takayama, Shirakawago & Kanazawa as there is simply less distance to cover, which in turn gives you more time to explore.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
