We arrive in Japan on May 30, 2019. Should we buy the pass now or wait to within 30 days? If we buy it now we can activate it at the airport , correct. We want the pass to start on the 31st. Can we do this the night before when we arrive at the Narita airport or do we have to wait until the 31st? Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
The JR Pass has to be activated within 3 months after purchase, you could buy the pass now.
Upon time of activation, you can select your own starting date. This can be a later date.
