My stay is in Osaka. I plan to visit Kyoto (3 days), Himeji (1day), Nara (1day), maybe Hiroshima (1day). Can you advise type of rail pass to buy.

I would get a Kansai - Hiroshima Area Pass this will help you make good savings and it would cover travel to all the places you wish to visit.
