I've already purchased a 21-day JRP; but I'll be in Japan for 24 days. I'll start in KIX airpot and finish in Haneda international. Should I start using it from KIX airport when I arrive, taking into account I'll be travelling to Himaji, and get a 3 day discount ticket for Tokyo subway+airpot, or, get a Kansai thru pass for the first 3 days and then use the 21 day ticket until I leave?

Hi there,
It really depends on what you would cover (or not) in the 3 days that you would not be using the JR Pass. Basically, the JR Pass is best used on the part that you travel the most. I'd start using the JR Pass right away on arrival if you want to go to Himeji.
Enjoy your trip!
