Hi,

We are travelling from Tokyo to Kyoto at April 6th. For this we want to buy the 7 days JR pass, but we found out that there is an optional Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass. Is this worse to do?

Do we need to transfer a lot during the trip?

Can we use the pass for our trip to Haneda airport one week later as well?

Kind regards,

Anna

Hello Anna,

In general I would not advice the Osaka-Tokyo Hokuriku Arch Pass over the JR Pass unless you specifically would make a stop or two on the Hokuriku Arch, think of cities like Kanazawa and Nagano. There's a significant amount of extra travel time and the amount of savings is small.

Travel to Haneda is included in both passes, of course this has to be within the validity period of each pass.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
