I'm travelling to Japan in september and i will be based out of Osaka and i plan on travelling to different parts of Japan.
If i travel Osaka-Tokoyo and back, Osaka-Kyoto and back etc does the JR Pass make sense to purchase
Can I use the pass within Osaka?

Hi there,
I do think a 7 day JR Pass would make sense if you make different day trips. The cost of a 7 day JR Pass is about the same as a normal return Tokyo - Osaka using the Shinkansen. You'll really get good value if you make any additional trips.
The JR Pass is valid on local JR lines in Osaka as well but not on other transport, such as the Osaka subway.
I would also recommend a visit to Hiroshima/Miyajima if you have the time.
