Hi, I want to travel from tokyo to osaka.

I understand that I can take the Shinkansen tokyo to shin-osaka. However, is this mode of transport covered by the JR Pass? And i would like to check what's the name of the train that i have to take?

And does the JR pass cover the subway rides i take in osaka and tokyo?

Hi there,

You can use the JR Pass to travel on the Hikari Shinkansen between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka.

The subway is not included as it is run by different companies. You can however use the urban JR networks in Osaka and Tokyo, which covers the major parts of both cities.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
