We will be visiting Japan for about two weeks and want to purchase the jrpass. However, our daughter is already in Japan as a missionary and has been there for about 18 months and will be returning to the US with us. If I understand correctly, she will not be eligible for the jrpass. What do you recommend so that we can travel and use the train with her?

Hi there,

Just reserve your seats together, the person who does not have a JR Pass will just have to pay for a normal ticket but the JR Staff will seat you together.

Hope this helps,
Daniel
