Traveling to Naso-Cho, Tochigi-Ken from Tokyo at end of Sept 2018

My family of 3 will be arriving Tokyo at end of Sept 2018 & will only be staying for 5 days,4 nights in Naso-Cho, Tochigi-Ken.
Which JR rail pass would you suggest we get to cover our trip along the waythere & would you be able to suggest places we can visit using the JR pass.
Does the pass cover buses as well?

Hi there,

It would depend on where you want to visit. If you just within Tochigi then it will likely be better to just buy normal tickets or rent a car. If you want to go a bit further to say Hokkaido or Kyoto, then a 7 day JR Pass makes sense.

Nikko, Matsu-shima and Kinugawa are easy trips to make from/within Tochigi..
